Job Description
- Supervise and lead highway maintenance teams in executing repair and replacement works including pavement resurfacing, pothole repairs, roadside clearing, and signage installation.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily and periodic maintenance activities in accordance with approved work programmes.
- Conduct site inspections to identify and prioritize maintenance needs, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Oversee and verify sub-contractor works to ensure alignment with project specifications and quality standards.
- Review and validate work programmes and repair proposals submitted by sub-contractors prior to client submission.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA and other statutory safety regulations at all times.
- Monitor progress and quality of on-site works, providing technical guidance and corrective feedback as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work performed, including manpower deployment, equipment usage, and material consumption.
- Collaborate with internal departments (engineering, traffic, environmental) and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of works.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to maintenance crews on proper repair techniques, tool handling, and safety procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergencies (e.g., accidents, hazardous spills, flooding) and coordinate immediate repair and mitigation efforts.
- Perform other duties and tasks as instructed by the superior.
