Job summary

A leading international bank in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Student Apprentice in Health and Safety Management for a full-time placement starting in early 2026. This internship offers practical experience in promoting and managing health and safety initiatives. The ideal candidate should be pursuing a relevant degree and have a basic understanding of health and safety principles. Opportunities to develop skills in a supportive environment are provided.

Qualifications

  • Availability to work full time from Jan/Feb 2026 for a period of 3 to 6 months.
  • Knowledge in Malaysian HSE regulations (OSHA 1994, Fire Services Act 1988).
  • Able to participate in safety inspections and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in H&S promotions and preparing materials.
  • Supporting safety campaigns and events.
  • Participating in safety inspections and incident reporting.

Skills

Basic understanding of H&S principles

The objective of this internship program is to provide the student with practical experience in supporting the bank’s Health and Safety function, including promotion, and administrative management of safety initiatives.

  • Assisting in H&S promotions such as preparing and publishing Health & Safety Bulletins, posters and awareness materials.
  • Supporting safety campaigns and events.
  • Assisting in administrative H&S tasks including record keeping, maintaining safety documentation.
  • Participating in safety inspections, risk assessment and incident reporting coordination.

Qualifications - External

  • Availability to work full time from Jan/Feb 2026 for a period of 3 to 6 months.
  • Field of student: Currently pursuing a Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health or related discipline.
  • Knowledge Base: Basic understanding of H&S principles, risk assessment and Malaysian HSE regulations (OSHA 1994, Fire Services Act 1988) or ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management Standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Able to prepare simple visuals or posters for safety promotions.
  • The legal right to work in Malaysia
