PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Structural Engineer is to provide engineering design support, ensuring the design, analysis and design procedures comply with the standards while coordinating with other team members to deliver safe and efficient construction design solutions.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand the basic structural analysis and ensure the drawings output meet the target dateline while maintaining the quality of the drawings.
  • Prepare and produce detailed design engineering drawings, calculations, reports and materials take-off. (Review panel layout, lifting bracing design, embedment and connections).
  • Design and execute engineering experiments to create workable solutions.
  • Produce shop drawings based on architectural and structural drawings.
  • Assist in value engineering to optimize cost and construction speed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet safety.
  • Ensure compliance with all personal obligations under Health and Safety legislation and to adhere to Company H&S policies and procedures, while working to improve the internal Safety Audit.
  • Ensure the company is flexible in its approach to utilizing skills and knowledge to benefit the business when needed.

KEY FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
  • Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural).
  • Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
  • 1-3 years experience in structural design/detailing.
  • Familiar with AutoCAD, Revit workflows and model-based coordination.
  • Precast experience (tilt-up/precast construction) is an advantage.
  • Familiar with shop drawings workflows and structural detailing standards; ensure compliance with relevant codes (ACI, ASCE, AISC, etc.).
  • Experience managing model revision, drawing control and submission sheets.
