Job summary

Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (PROTON) is seeking a seasoned Supplier Manager to lead collaboration with government agencies and strategic partners. You will drive supplier development, localization, and Industry 4.0 initiatives in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Key focus areas include SAP-based master data, KPI-driven performance, and cross-functional program delivery across Procurement, SQE, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, IT, and Corporate Strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Supply Chain, Business Admin, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Vendor Management, Procurement or related area.
• Automotive or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of supplier management, performance, sourcing and vendor development.
• Experience with SAP/SAP S/4HANA and supplier master data management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier collaboration and engagement with government agencies and strategic partners.
• Coordinate supplier development, capability improvement, localization and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
• Manage supplier registration, pre-qualification, onboarding and supplier master data in SAP.
• Monitor supplier performance, KPIs, scorecards, watchlist/blacklist status and improvement actions.
• Coordinate supplier assessments, development programmes and GEMBA visits.
• Organise supplier engagement programmes such as Vendor Conference, Technology Day and workshops.
• Support new model launches, localization projects and supplier ecosystem development.
• Work with Procurement, SQE, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, IT and Corporate Strategy on cross-functional projects.
• Prepare supplier performance reports, dashboards, presentations and management updates.
