Job summary

Rockwell Automation in Malaysia is seeking a Sourcing Engineer to support and implement the global strategic sourcing strategy across commodities and suppliers in a hybrid role based in Johor.

The ideal candidate has an engineering background, 5+ years in direct materials sourcing, and a track record of cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations and quality teams. Travel up to 50% may be required across domestic and regional sites.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (Mechnaical) or technical background.
• Broad knowledge in managing direct material commodities (e.g. machined parts, injection molding, cable assemblies, bus bar).
• 5+ years of progressive sourcing responsibilities across multiple commodities and regions.
• Experience managing sourcing preferably in multi-site and multi-commodity environments.
• Travel up to 50% (domestic & international).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and implement sourcing strategies on assigned commodities with regional leads.
• Collaborate with global sourcing, Engineering, Operations, BU, Quality to achieve strategies.
• Source and qualify new suppliers, especially in Best-Cood-Country (BCC).
• Develop supplier development programs and drive KPI improvements.
• Support VAVE projects and lead cost/design improvements with suppliers.
