Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Sourcing Engineer (Mechanical) to join its procurement team in Kuala Lumpur. You will manage sourcing of mechanical commodities, develop supplier partnerships, and drive cost, quality, and supply performance across engineering and operations.

You will work with global sourcing teams, support new product introductions, and lead cost reduction and value engineering initiatives in a fast-paced multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in sourcing, procurement, or supplier management involving mechanical commodities.
• Strong understanding of mechanical components, manufacturing processes, and supplier development.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and commercial negotiations.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multinational environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for mechanical commodities.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and delivery performance.
• Lead RFQs, supplier negotiations, and contract discussions.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance.
• Drive supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Resolve supply, quality, and delivery issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support production and new product introduction.
• Provide sourcing expertise for mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
• Support cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
• Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and commodity pricing.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and supply chain resilience.
• Maintain accurate procurement data and supplier performance metrics.
