Job summary

Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to support strategic regulatory, governance and data protection initiatives across the Group. You will advise on PDPA compliance, privacy governance, and data risk management in collaboration with business and technology teams.

In this role, you will help develop and refine legal frameworks, supervise cross-border data transfers, and provide practical guidance on complex regulatory matters and transformations within a leading

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Called to the Malaysian Bar or qualified to practise in a recognised common law jurisdiction.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in data protection, privacy, regulatory advisory, or legal practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic regulatory, governance and data protection advisory to business teams.
• Advise on PDPA compliance, competition law and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and enhance data protection governance frameworks and policies.
• Assist with regulatory investigations, risk management and incident response.
• Draft and review contractual arrangements to address legal and data protection obligations.
