Job summary

PEC SE Asia SDN BHD, based in Penang, Malaysia, invites applications for a Buyer to support daily procurement and purchasing operations at our production site. You will handle purchase orders, supplier coordination, order follow-up, and ensure on-time delivery while complying with company procedures.

We seek a candidate with 2–4 years in manufacturing procurement, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, strong English, and proficiency in MS Office; SAP is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years working experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken; additional language skills are an advantage.
• Proficient in MS Office; working experience with SAP is a plus.
• Understanding of technical specifications, engineering drawings and measurement methods is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and evaluate quotations from approved suppliers
• Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in accordance with procurement procedures and cost engineering estimates
• Manage day-to-day procurement activities for production, engineering and other purchasing requirements
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and proactively resolve delivery-related issues
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, pricing, and procurement documentation
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure procurement requirements are fulfilled in a timely manner
• Liaise with suppliers regarding quotations, order acknowledgements, delivery schedules, and invoice discrepancies
• Monitor order status and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders
• Support supplier performance monitoring and maintain procurement-related reports and records
• Assist in resolving issues relating to late delivery, quantity discrepancies and concerns in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
• Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement of procurement processes
• Support procurement activities involving make-to-order (MTO) and OEM parts, including reviewing technical specifications and engineering drawings with local and international subject matter experts
