Position Title: Storekeeper Cum Technician
Experience Level: Minimum 4–5 Years
We are on the lookout for a strong independent Storekeeper Cum Technician, a dual-role position responsible for the efficient management of all inventory and spare parts, coupled with providing essential technical support and maintenance within the facility. This role requires meticulous organization, technical proficiency, and experience utilizing inventory management systems, preferably those based on SQL or equivalent database structures.
Responsibilities
A. Store Keeping & Inventory Management (Approx. 60%)
- Inventory Control: Manage the entire lifecycle of parts and materials, including receiving, inspection, storage, issuance, and timely disposal.
- System Management: Accurately update and maintain inventory records using the company's SQL-based (or equivalent) inventory management system. Perform regular data entry, transaction tracking, and report generation.
- Stock Audits: Conduct scheduled (monthly) and ad‑hoc physical inventory counts to reconcile stock levels with system records, ensuring minimal discrepancies.
- Procurement Support: Initiate purchase requests for stock replenishment based on defined minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Organization: Ensure the storeroom is maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner, adhering to all storage and safety protocols (e.g., FIFO method).
B. Technical Support & Maintenance (Approx. 40%)
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) on company assets, machinery, or customer equipment as instructed.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair minor technical faults related to equipment or facility issues, utilizing mechanical and/or electrical knowledge.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed service and repair logs, recording parts used, time spent, and status of repairs.
- Assembly/Preparation: Assist in the assembly, testing, or preparation of equipment prior to deployment or customer handover.
- Tools Management: Ensure all workshop tools and equipment are kept in good working order and properly accounted for upon return.
Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of 4 to 5 years of demonstrable experience in a combination role such as Storekeeper, Inventory Clerk, and/or Maintenance Technician.
- Technical Skills: Proven mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude relevant to the company's industry (e.g., machinery, electronics, facilities).
- System Knowledge (Mandatory): Proficient working knowledge of inventory management systems, specifically those utilizing basic SQL queries or an equivalent database structure for data retrieval and reporting.
- Education: A relevant technical certification, Diploma, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and coordinating with internal teams and vendors.
- Soft Skills: High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit and able to lift and move heavy objects as required for handling inventory and equipment.
- A valid GDL license is an added advantage.
- Willing to work overtime when required.
