Responsibilities
- Provide Static Equipment technical services to operating units, manufacturing plants, capital projects and research & development organizations.
- Understand basic technical principles of Static Equipment and manage work independently.
- Partner with senior engineers on technical direction for complex scenarios requiring high levels of technical and business integration.
- Work effectively with partners and contractors in pursuit of project support.
- Participate in vendor meetings that align with the individual’s skills and business focus, including joint ventures, partners, industry associations and academia.
- Support project development from concept selection through commissioning and startup, and through all phases of asset operational life.
- Apply understanding of asset operations, team communication, and presentation skills to deliver cost‑effective technical support for routine problems within the core discipline.
- With guidance from senior engineers, apply established, adapted, and new technologies to solve complex problems encountered by capital projects and operating facilities.
- Contribute at the individual‑contributor level in skill areas specific to the current primary job families.
- Document completed efforts to enable efficient future similar work and identify opportunities to improve work processes.
- Provide technical mentorship to early‑career professionals, emphasizing identified skill gaps.
- Participate in internal networks for skill enhancement and for disseminating new or unique knowledge to others.
About you
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in oil & gas projects (e.g., FPSO, FLNG, Refinery, Petrochemical, LNG) or related industries.
- Deep understanding of Piping Design and Piping Layout, including plot plan preparation, pipe support selection, 3‑D model review, material specification, and vendor technical evaluation.
- Knowledgeable of ASME B31.3 pressure‑thickness design, ASME B16.5 flange ratings, material groups, and general awareness of the full B31.3 scope.
- Basic pipe‑stress analysis and B31.3 compliance (e.g., sustained stress, thermal expansion, nozzle loads).
- Basic understanding of valve types and associated standards (e.g., ASME B16.34, API 598, API 600).
- Experience with onshore and offshore facilities design and onsite work in oil & gas facilities.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with other engineering disciplines such as Process, Rotating Equipment, and Materials.
- Experienced in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of piping systems and components.
- Basic understanding of ASME SEC VIII Division 1 and ASME PCC‑2 structure and content.
- General awareness of pressure‑vessel design, fabrication, repair, operation, and related software (e.g., PVElite, Compress).
- Understanding of mechanical design and operation of common pressure vessels (e.g., drums, towers, reactors, heat exchangers) and the impacts of transient operation.
- Strong organizational, managerial, and technical judgment skills.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
