KPJ Kluang Specialist Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care and coordination within the allocated unit. You will supervise nursing activities, ensure adherence to doctor's orders, and maintain precise patient documentation.
Applicants should have at least 3 years of clinical experience, be registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia, and be proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
RESPONSIBLE FOR Performing professional nursing care to patients. Direct supervision and co-ordination of the activities in the allocated unit / ward, in line with the Policies and Procedures of Nursing Services. Responsible for keeping In-Charge / Unit Manager informed of any incidents or reportable situations that need nursing administrative involvement
Adherence to nursing care vision, mission, goals, and objectives, aligns with the scope of nursing services, and performs shift duties as assigned by the Unit Manager to ensure high-quality care rendered. Notifies the unit manager of any changes in the situation that could impact the standards of care. Obtains and handovers a report of patient progress, ensuring all doctor's orders are followed before changing or overtaking shifts and notifying any incidents or problems encountered. Visit patients in the unit with team members to assess conditions, re-plan nursing care, and determine nursing priorities based on patient needs and staff availability. Provides personalized, holistic patient care using the nursing process approach, maintaining accurate documentation in patient folders, and promptly reporting any abnormal findings to relevant doctors or consultants. Conducts nursing rounds on patients, providing emotional support and accompanying doctors while doing rounds, as well as assisting in procedures as needed. Executing the doctor's orders, coordinating with team members related to the patient’s treatment, and fostering effective communication with all disciplines, patients, and relatives to ensure patient satisfaction. Actively participates in the health education, dialogue sessions, and hospital activities. Provide clear, compassionate, and culturally sensitive communication with patients, ensuring their understanding of their condition, treatment options, and care plan comprehensively. Collaborate with the unit manager in administration, setting care standards, and fulfilling duties in the absence of the unit manager, while also carrying out assigned tasks and providing feedback. Charge accurately, incorporating charges for equipment and consumable items into the patient’s charges and verifying their completeness. Inspect and document the supply of sterile packs to ensure the integrity of the packaging and maintain an adequate supply of unit stock from central sterile supply services. Acts on behalf of the Unit Manager in setting standards and expectations in the quality of care. Carries out duties and responsibilities of the Unit Manager in her absence as directed. Monitor par level of floor stock randomly Carries out assignments scheduled by Unit Manager and provide feedback
Identify the extent and complexity of decision making required and the impact on the organization This post requires adequate level of knowledge in patient care, makes decision related to patient care and ensure compliance of Nursing policies and procedures. Decision may impact the quality of service to the patient.
Identify the degree of choice or freedom in decision making Freedom of action is relatively high but constrained by the policies and procedures of the Nursing Services and Hospital. Issues of ethical and managerial significance affecting the Services and the Hospital must be reported to the UM.
Education: Registered with Nursing Board of Malaysia with a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Knowledge and Experiences: Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of clinical experience and diversity in clinical experience. Skills & Competencies: Possess certifications in BLS, ACLS, MTLS, PALS and NRP (according to the specialties) Special skills are required. Proficient in writing and conversing in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
