Job summary

A healthcare provider in Johor is seeking a qualified nurse to assist doctors during outpatient visits and surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Nursing and at least 2-3 years of experience in a specialist or IVF clinic setting. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred for effective communication with clients. The role includes patient counseling, clinical care, and monitoring recovery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years nursing experience in Medical Specialist / IVF Clinic.
• Possession of a valid OT / AU certificate is an advantage.
• Experience in an operating theatre / anesthesia unit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctor in preparation of patient case-notes for daily outpatient visit.
• Assist doctor on physical clinical examination.
• Conduct patient counseling on financial fees and related surgical & treatment procedures.
• Perform clinical nursing care procedures such as wound dressing, post‑surgical care advice, etc.
• Dispense medication to patient and bill when needed.
• Prepare and conduct checks on surgical items, medical equipment and instruments before a surgical procedure.
• Administrate and prepare patient for surgical procedure including pre‑surgical briefing/checks, taking of vital signs, etc.
• Provide assistance to doctor during minor clinical surgery and procedure.
• Monitor patients’ condition and progress during recovery.
• Ensure all sharps and bio‑hazards are properly disposed.
• Prepare and pack surgical items/instruments for sterilization and disinfection.
• Conduct routine stock check and expiry validation/replenishment of surgical, medical and other supplies.
• Perform other nursing duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum a Diploma in Nursing or equivalent (Recognized by Malaysia Nursing Board) with a valid Malaysia Nursing Board Practicing License.
• Minimum 2‑3 years nursing experience in Medical Specialist / IVF Clinic settings.
• Possession of a valid OT / AU certificate or Hospital Testimony will be an advantage.
• Experience working in an operating theatre / anesthesia unit will be considered an advantage.
• Service‑oriented and enjoys interaction with people.
• Mandarin speaker preferred to effectively communicate with Mandarin‑speaking clients.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
