Job Scope: Staff Nurse / Senior Staff Nurse

Location: Penang Eye Centre (New Branch – Pioneer Team)

As part of the pioneer nursing team for our newly established eye centre in Penang, the Staff Nurse / Senior Staff Nurse will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering high-quality patient care in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing care to ophthalmology patients in line with hospital standards and protocols.
  • Assist doctors during eye consultations, minor procedures, and treatments.
  • Perform pre- and post-procedure patient assessments and provide relevant patient education.
  • Manage clinic preparation, including instrument sterilization and equipment maintenance.
  • Administer medications and ensure accurate documentation of nursing records.
  • Support patient flow and appointment management for an efficient clinic operation.
  • Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe clinical environment.
  • Handle basic administrative and inventory duties (e.g., stock management, consumable ordering).
  • Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff (for Senior Staff Nurse).
  • Participate in continuous improvement, quality assurance, and staff training activities.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing with valid APC / RON.
  • Post Basic in Ophthalmology or Perioperative Nursing is an added advantage.
  • Experience in ophthalmology, clinic, or hospital setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
  • Willing to be part of a pioneer team and contribute to the setup and development of the new centre.
