Job summary

ECON Medicare Centre And Nursing Home Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Nursing Administrator to oversee daily nursing operations, ensure MOH standards, and lead a caring team in a residential setting.

The role covers medication management, staff training, and coordination with doctors, residents, and families. Diploma/Bachelor in Nursing is required with strong patient care and communication skills. On-call duties are expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Report to Home/Centre Manager via Nurse-In-Charge daily.
• Assist Nurse-In-Charge with residents' daily activities.
• Stand-in for Nurse-In-Charge when off-duty.
• Ensure nursing care complies with MOH standards.
• Order, pack, prepare, and serve medications.
• Administer injections, take BP, record results.
• Prepare and update nursing care plans and progress notes.
• Supervise dressings per MOH rules.
• Maintain medicine logbook for controlled drugs.
• Maintain logbook for daily activities.
• Coordinate with hospitals and next-of-kin for appointments.
• Liaise with Home Doctor as needed.
• Supervise physiotherapy sessions and monitor conditions.
• Hold first aid and nursing procedure training for staff.
• Train staff on emergency nursing equipment usage.
• Be on-call 24 hours and attend emergencies.

Job description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To be responsible to the Home/Centre Manager through the Nurse-In-Charge in the daily nursing activities of the Home.

2. To assist the Nurse-In-Charge on the daily activities of the residents, the staff duties and other areas of responsibility.

3. To stand-in for the Nurse-In-Charge while she is off-duty at all times.

4. To ensure all nursing care carried out comply with the nursing standard set by the Ministry of Health.

5. To order, pack, prepare, serve all medication for the residents.

6. To give injections, take blood pressure, recording, write reports, etc.

7. To do the nursing care plan for all residents and update the nursing progress notes for all residents daily to meet with the requirements of the Ministry of Health.

8. To do/supervise all dressings and ensure it conforms to the Ministry of Health’s nursing rules and regulations.

9. To maintain properly the logbook on the medicine for controlled drugs in the Home.

10. To maintain properly the logbook on the daily activities in the Home.

11. To liaise closely with the respective hospital, resident’s next-of-kins on the daily medical appointment for all the residents in the Home.

12. To liaise closely and attend to our Home’s Doctor as and when necessary.

13. To supervise and perform physiotherapy session for those residents in need and closely monitor their condition in the daily session.

14. To hold training session on first aid and nursing procedures for emergencies to all junior staff. Eg. the Nursing Aides & Assistant Nurses.

15. To teach all new/old staff on the correct usage of nursing equipment needed in case of emergency. Eg. Mucus Suction Pump, Oxygen Therapy Unit. I/V Drip etc.

16. To be 24 hours "on call" basis and to attend to emergencies at all times.
