Job summary

Micron Technology, a world leader in memory and storage solutions, is seeking a Staff Engineer in the Non-Volatile Engineering (NVE) Product Engineering organization to enable world-class NAND product development and new product introduction. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering.
• Course work or work experience in Python/C/C++, semiconductor physics, data analytics and statistics is required.
• Software development proficiency (e.g. C-based programming) and scripting (e.g. Perl, Python) expected.

Responsibilities

• Partner with NAND Technology Development, NAND Design, NAND Product Development, and System Development teams to enable successful product development and qualification.
• Set up infrastructure, automation frameworks, and AI-enabled workflows to support system-level evaluation of NAND during the NAND development phase.
• Support controller-based NAND testing, validation, and failure analysis, leveraging advanced analytics and AI-assisted tools where applicable to accelerate root-cause detection and debug.
• Responsible for Component NAND device qualification.
• Drive failure analysis from system level to NAND level and provide actionable, data-driven feedback to related teams.
• Perform detailed electrical and physical failure analysis and work with cross-functional organizations to resolve SSD, Embedded NAND, and Component NAND related issues.

As a Staff Engineer in the Non-Volatile Engineering (NVE) Product Engineering organization at Micron Technology, Inc., you will support NAND and NAND‑based system product development to enable world‑class end products. You will be responsible for enabling New Product Introduction with seamless and issue‑free release to both internal and external non‑volatile system customers. In this role, you will help establish the infrastructure, tools, and engineering practices needed to accelerate NAND development learning cycles and achieve best‑in‑class cycle time from first silicon to qualified system.

This includes leveraging AI‑enabled engineering workflows, advanced analytics, and automation solutions to improve development efficiency, accelerate debug and failure analysis, and drive data‑driven decision making. Additionally, you will work closely with various Engineering and Development groups to prioritize work, apply innovative technologies including AI‑assisted tools where appropriate, and ensure necessary actions are taken to meet specific product requirements. • Drive failure analysis efforts from system level to NAND level and provide actionable, data‑driven feedback to related teams.
• Perform detailed electrical and physical failure analysis and work with cross‑functional organizations to resolve SSD, Embedded NAND, and Component NAND related issues.
• Troubleshoot customer‑return failures and develop effective corrective actions and solutions.
• Develop and implement automation, scripting, and AI‑assisted engineering solutions to improve productivity, reduce development cycle time, and enhance product quality.
• Leverage data analytics, machine learning, and AI‑enabled methodologies to derive insights from validation, reliability, and manufacturing data and support informed engineering decisions.
• Champion AI‑enabled ways of working by identifying opportunities to apply automation, advanced analytics, and generative AI tools to accelerate product development, improve engineering effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Additional Qualifications:

• Effective interpersonal skills in written and spoken English, including documentation and presentation.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with careful attention to root cause.
• Proactive towards continuous improvement and self‑development.
• Software development proficiency (e.g. C‑based programming) and scripting (e.g. Perl, Python).
• Memory product knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of Automated Test Equipment and debug tools like oscilloscope and logic analyzer is a plus.
• Simulation software know‑how (e.g. Verilog, Synopsis VCS) is a plus.

Education:

• Position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering.
• Course work or work experience in Python/C/C++, semiconductor physics, data analytics and statistics is required.
