Job summary

Celestica is seeking an Operations Engineering Consultant 1 in Bayan Lepas, Penang. You will run pre-DFA screens, model assembly sequences, and check interference, routing and service access to ensure design readiness.

You will log findings with severity, support trial builds on site, and collaborate with mechanical and industrial design teams to resolve issues and drive DFA improvements. This role requires 8+ years in mechanical/NPI engineering and CAD proficiency.

• Four to eight years in mechanical, assembly or NPI engineering with system integration exposure.
• CAD proficiency expected.
• Degree in mechanical engineering.

Summary

• Runs the assembly and serviceability screen inside design: models the assembly sequence, checks access, tool clearance and handling, and raises findings before the mechanical design is committed.
• Supports trial builds and mechanical issues at the assigned site.

Detailed Description

Run pre-DFA on assigned platforms and issue the report before release.

Model the assembly sequence and check interference, fastening, routing and service access.

Log findings with severity and route, and work the disposition with mechanical and industrial design.

Support trial builds at the site and capture assembly cycle time and operator-induced defect modes.

Support rack integration, thermal and cold plate assembly questions for the assigned site.

Propose DFA rule changes from recurring findings and from field service data.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Four to eight years in mechanical, assembly or NPI engineering with system integration exposure.
• CAD proficiency expected.
• Degree in mechanical engineering.
