Job summary

Rimini Street, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Support Engineer, SAP FI/CO to join our global remote-based team with a Selangor, Malaysia focus. You will deliver expert SAP FICO support for Finance modules, partnering with clients to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in a 24x7x365 environment.

The role requires strong ABAP debugging skills, S/4HANA finance knowledge, and fluency in English. Travel for short assignments may be required; hybrid work model in Selangor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Fluency in English; strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in SAP implementations, roll-outs or application support.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex customer issues using methodical troubleshooting based on expert knowledge of SAP applications functionality and technology.
• Work closely with customers daily to understand their needs, support business change, and deliver a consistently high-quality customer experience.
• Support client customisations, sharing implementation and best practices advice.
• Develop application break fixes for critical product defects.
• Create scripts to identify, analyse and correct data issues.
• Manage one or more key assigned accounts as a technical/functional advisor.
• Provide hands-on assistance using proprietary tools in a test environment or via remote client connectivity.
• Be a pro-active contributor to a 24x7x365 support organization with flexible hours.

We are actively seeking an experienced Sr. Support Engineer, SAP FI/CO to join our team. This remote Selangor –based role reports to the Regional Manager.

Position Summary

The role of the Sr. Support Engineer, SAP FI/CO Financials is to provide exceptional remote‑based support for mission‑critical SAP applications as part of our global customer support team. The position has the responsibility for researching, troubleshooting and support for our global clients who use Finance and Controlling (FICO) New GL, AR, AP, and AA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Solve complex customer issues using methodical troubleshooting based on expert knowledge of SAP applications functionality and technology
• Work closely with customers daily to understand their needs, support business change, and deliver a consistently high-quality customer experience
• Support client customisations, sharing implementation and best practices advice
• Develop application break fixes for critical product defects
• Create scripts to identify, analyse and correct data issues
• Manage one or more key assigned accounts as a technical/functional advisor
• Provide hands‑on assistance using proprietary tools in a test environment or via remote client connectivity
• Be a pro‑active contributor to a support organization which is running 24x7x365, this will require the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays and monitoring email regularly outside standard business hours
• Collaborate with team members in a virtual team environment to extend field experience to different client situations
• Contribute to the development and management of knowledge‑sharing methodologies, diagnostic tools, and creative processes, to improve the client experience

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Knowledge of: SAP ECC or S/4HANA Finance expert in Core modules (New GL, AR, AP, AA)
• Mandatory experience in S/4HANA as S/4HANA finance consultant
• Technical‑functional knowledge in S/4HANA finance: New GL, Universal Journal, etc.
• Knowledge on FI Localization is highly desirable
• S/4HANA Management Accounting (Controlling) is not mandatory but highly desirable
• ABAP / development skills for debugging and tracing
• ABAP optimisation is highly desirable
• Experience in other FI modules is a plus: Cash Management, Group Reporting, Treasury, etc.
• Well‑developed customer focus and problem solving
• Good presentation and communication skills for customer facing activities
• Ready to travel for assignments (short term)
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills – verbal & written
• Fluency in English is required
• Attention to detail and the ability to learn quick
• Extreme focus on Client satisfaction
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work calmly and professionally in high pressure situations
• A track record of successful roles in SAP implementations, roll‑outs or application support; Relevant working knowledge and understanding of supporting business processes; Analytical, logical problem resolution skills; SAP certification(s) preferred; Knowledge of maintenance/patching mechanics and SAP architecture; Demonstrable history solving complex problems across multiple modules
• Superb trouble‑shooting skills and tenacity in problem solving
• Passionate focus on customer support and the ability to build long term, successful working relationships with Clients
• Strong knowledge of key application functionality, tables and relationships
• Deep knowledge of SAP customization/extension methodologies
• Excellent development skills using SAP toolset
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills – verbal & written

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of any Country Specific Solutions would be an advantage
• A consulting background, while not mandatory, would be useful
• Experience with localisations and global implementations would be an advantage
