Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. seeks a seasoned Buyer/Procurement professional in Malaysia to oversee Capital, Spares and Services sourcing, drive P2P processes, and ensure timely deliveries for network capacity.

You will manage supplier relationships, execute strategic cost improvements, and lead AI-enabled continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating across a global matrix organization. The role requires 7+ years in procurement or supply chain, with preference for semiconductor equipment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• At least 7 years in Engineering, Purchasing/Procurement, or Supply Chain.
• Prior experience managing semiconductor equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement process for Capital, Spares, and Services.
• Coordinate P2P process ensuring delivery dates, cash flow, budgeting, and invoice reconciliation.
• Maintain timely delivery (OTD) to meet network capacity requirements.
• Be primary contact for site/network suppliers and manage supplier relationships.
• Perform commercial supplier qualification for strategic supplier development.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers and address performance issues.
• Ensure compliance with Micron's code-of-conduct and CSR initiatives.
• Communicate supplier management updates across organizational levels.
• Drive localization to improve supply chain resilience and cost competitiveness.
• Apply data and should-cost models to drive cost improvements.
• Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals.
• Develop contract strategies, negotiate terms, and enforce conditions with suppliers.
• Partner with Category team to build supplier performance view.
• Collect and relay site priorities to suppliers.
• Collaborate to develop KPIs for strategic suppliers and monitor performance.
• Adopt AI-enabled continuous improvement to drive productivity and efficiency.

• Develop contract strategies, negotiate terms, and enforce conditions with managed suppliers.

Supplier Performance Management

• Partner with the Category team to build a comprehensive view of supplier performance.
• Collect and relay site-specific priorities to suppliers.
• Collaborate internally to develop key performance measures for strategic suppliers and monitor their performance to ensure continuous improvement.

AI-Enabled Continuous Improvement

• Adopt and lead automation or AI-enabled continuous improvement projects/initiatives to drive overall business process simplification, productivity and operational excellence improvements.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in Engineering, Purchasing/Procurement, or Supply Chain.
• Prior experience managing semiconductor equipment is preferred.
