Job Overview

Analyze and solve production engineering and new project qualification issues with the objective of ensuring new project launch on time and production by order, and improving efficiency under the supervision of the Sr. Manager PBL organization.
As a PBL manufacturing engineer, you will work with cross-functional teams and PBL suppliers to handle new product quotations, process design, sample qualification, and support sourcing to drive productivity and on-time delivery. Additionally, you will train and support PBL suppliers to enhance their capabilities.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Engineering Capability
    • Support sourcing for new supplier qualification
    • Support sourcing for supplier exit
    • Support SQE for supplier audits
    • Assess suppliers to improve their capabilities

New Projects

  • Support sourcing for new product quotations
  • Lead project management for on-schedule approval (e.g., Micro Lite project)
  • Support suppliers in DFM, PFMEA, and design reviews
  • Assist suppliers with process and tool design, qualification, and sample issues
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and suppliers for packing design and qualification testing
  • Ensure all engineering documents are completed by suppliers
  • Collaborate with SQE and suppliers for safe launch audits

Sustaining Products

  • Work with sourcing and suppliers to review and improve capacity, including tool qualification
  • Collaborate with SQE and suppliers to improve process yield and quality issues
  • Follow EC changes and 4M changes
  • Lead new material qualification processes for material changes
  • Manage supplier change or migration projects, including qualification

Productivity

  • Identify opportunities for process, material, plating, and packing improvements
  • Support VAVE projects to drive cost reduction
  • Assist sourcing in cost reduction negotiations

Capex Management and Equipment Maintenance

  • Follow capex qualification processes and coordinate with finance, sourcing, and suppliers
  • Support suppliers in preparing and monitoring equipment and tool maintenance plans
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related field
  • Over 8 years of total work experience
  • More than 5 years of direct experience in connector and/or cable manufacturing engineering
  • Proficiency in Mandarin and English communication skills
  • Strong execution abilities
