Position: High Speed Cable Assembly MPDE Department Manager
Position Overview
TE Connectivity is seeking a SR. MGR MFG & PROCESS DVL ENGINEERING for Data & Device BU to cover teams in South East Asia. The MPDE Manager will lead a team of process development engineers tasked with developing assembly processes for high-speed cable assemblies and coordinating with manufacturing engineering teams on the transition to mass production.
Responsibilities
- Allocate and balance the allocation of work across direct reports; review and provide timely performance feedback; mentor, develop and motivate them; help resolve people/functional issues in the team to achieve targeted performance and retain key talent.
- Lead a team of engineers who will develop high-speed cable assembly manufacturing process in accordance with LEANPD product development; drive for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods; strive to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control; support Product Development in the optimization designs (DFM) and piece parts for manufacturability; realize sample tooling, product samples and prototypes.
- Design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE Data and Devices quality and production standards.
- Support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability.
- Act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface.
- Maintain communication with project management team to understand current and future strategic business needs.
- Prioritize and time‑manage a portfolio of projects/work efforts based on criticality and business need.
- Provide readouts to Director and VP level cross‑function management as necessary.
- Work with Dongguan operations team to assign resources necessary for the successful execution of new product development.
- Facilitate and coordinate cross‑function communication across globally matrixed organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or above degree with mechanical/electric related majors.
- At least 15 years related experience managerial level in multinational manufacturing site, with 8+ years of team management experience.
- Familiar with Lean, Six Sigma, industrial methods/tools.
- 5 years or above work experience in cable assembly industry is preferred.
- Fluent in English and good presentation skills.
