Overview

To ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial reporting which include the followings: - Review monthly, quarterly and year end management reports, quarterly group consolidated report and yearly performance analysis that elaborate on the variance analysis between actual result and budget for all companies Possess sound and strong knowledge in handling Group Consolidation Accounts. Review and participate in budgets preparation, starts with annual budget in November, followed by six (6) months budget revision (if any). To prepare and review draft audited financial reports for all companies under the group.

Responsibilities
  • Managing financial budgeting which include treasury functions of the companies under his/her portfolio include the followings: - Review bank balances and transactions, approve bank reconciliation, liaison with bankers in placing short term deposits, request for utilization of banking facilities such as bank guarantees, letter of credit and overdraft.
  • Managing sufficient fund for operational use and surplus fund for generating interest income. This includes review the current cashflow position and review/prepare cashflow projections.
  • Managing the taxation matters which includes: - Review tax estimate computation for the following financial year. Review Sales & Service Tax (SST) submission (monthly and quarterly submission). Review the yearly tax computation for filing to Inland Revenue Board. Handling the tax audit by Inland Revenue Board. Review the e-invoicing invoices and relevant documents.
  • Managing performance for assigned staff in the team which include oversee the effectiveness and efficiency of workflow performance, provide guidance, consultation, motivation and training.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Assist in corporate assignments covering M&A, financing structuring and corporate exercise. Involved in due diligence and legal documentation required to be carried out in relation to the corporate exercise. Prepare interim report, review announcement and other relevant reports for Bursa announcement. Carry out ad-hoc assignments as and when required by Chief Financial Officer or MD and assist in other operational matters of the companies under his/her portfolio as and when. Prepare financial information and related documentations for applying new banking facilities and for annual review of banking facilities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field: CPA, ACCA, ICAEW or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Proven experience 10 years in a similar finance/accounting role, preferably in a senior capacity. Experience in retail service is an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office
  • Demonstrated success in enhancing company financial performance.
  • Proficient in IFRS, MFRS and Bursa Listing Requirements and their applications.
  • Understanding of holding company and subsidiary operations and financial standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Exposure working in a Public Listed Company (PLC) is highly encouraged.
