Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Sr Accounts Executive to manage full sets of accounts for construction and property development projects, ensuring accurate ledgers, AR/AP entries and project cash flows.

You will handle project-specific billing, progress billings, retention sums and subcontractor claims, while performing reconciliations and variance analysis. Coordination with auditors, tax agents, and secretarial teams is essential for statutory compliance and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related professional qualification (ACCA, ICAEW, CPA).
• Experience in construction, property development or contracting preferred.
• Good knowledge of computerised accounting systems and advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail and analytical abilities.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills with ability to meet tight deadlines.

Sr Accounts Executives (Construction-Steel Engineering-Property Development)

We are looking for an Account Executive which can:

• Manage full sets of accounts for construction and property development projects, ensuring accurate and timely entries for general ledgers, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Handle project-specific billing, progress billings, retention sums, subcontractor claims and payment certifications.
• Perform regular account reconciliations including bank reconciliations, debtor aging analysis and creditor statement tracking.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, project cash flow forecasts and variance analysis against project budgets.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory accounting standards and tax regulations and coordinate smoothly with external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretarial parties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, CPA).
• Candidates with relevant working experience in the construction, property development or contracting industry will have an added advantage. Since, we are a Steel Construction Company, we would prefer someone who has brief experience in the construction sector.
• Good knowledge of computerised accounting systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Microsoft Excel).
• Strong numerical accuracy, close attention to detail and sound analytical and organisational capabilities.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage tight reporting deadlines and work collaboratively across departments.
