Job summary

Western Digital in Malaysia (Bayan Lepas, Penang) is seeking a Technician 2, Process to execute sputter process characterization, ensure KPIV/KPOV alignment, and support production through monitoring and adjustments.

You will perform process characterization, verify KPIV (pressure, temperature, voltage), collect data, and maintain records while adhering to safety and cleanroom protocols; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, and MS Windows skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical), Electrical/Electronic, or Mechatronic/Electromechanical or equivalent (Fresh graduates welcome).
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in sputter process and knowledge of Magnetic materials used in HDD is an added advantage.
• Proficient in MS Windows Software (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
• Excel macros would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Execute process characterization for sputter equipment and materials.
• Conduct buy-off by verifying key process input variables (KPIV), including pressure, temperature, and voltage.
• Perform measurements and data collection for characterization samples.
• Monitor key process output variables (KPOV) during production to ensure process stability and product quality.
• Perform process adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and resolve deviations.
• Assist in troubleshooting process and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of process parameters, test results, and adjustments.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and cleanroom protocols.
