Your Mission
Get our products specified in building plans. You will be the direct contact for architects, designers, and major contractors, building the partnerships that make Boisdeck their preferred choice from project start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively target and engage with architectural firms, interior design studios, and landscape architects to secure specifications for Boisdeck products in upcoming projects.
- Conduct compelling Continuing Education (CEU) presentations and product workshops for design firms, educating them on the technical and sustainability benefits of our composites.
- Provide detailed technical support, sample coordination, and assist with drawing details to ensure smooth specification and approval.
Strategic Contractor Partnerships
- Identify, approach, and build direct, strategic relationships with installer, major contracting firms, developers, and project management companies.
- Position Boisdeck as a value-adding partner that offers not just a product, but a solution—reducing long-term maintenance, ensuring supply reliability, and enhancing project sustainability credentials.
- Negotiate framework agreements and preferred supplier status with key contractors.
Project Tracking & Sales Funnel Management
- Utilize a CRM to meticulously track projects from early design (specification) through to tender and final purchase by the contractor.
- Work closely with the distribution network to ensure a seamless handoff from specification to supply, protecting margins and project integrity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in specification sales or business development within the building materials like flooring and ceiling, construction, or architectural products industry.
- Proven track record of successfully getting products specified by architectural and design firms, with a portfolio of completed projects.
- Established network and experience working directly with large ID/ contracting/development companies.
- Deep understanding of the construction project lifecycle, from design and tender to procurement and installation.
- Excellent technical presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex product advantages clearly.
- Self-driven, strategic thinker with exceptional relationship-building skills.
Highly Advantageous
- Experience with sustainable/green building products and knowledge of certification schemes (e.g., Green Building Index).
- A background in flooring, ceiling, cladding, decking, or exterior surface materials.
