Job summary

B-Global Tech, a specialist in data centre ICT design, seeks an experienced Professional to lead end-to-end ICT design for mission-critical facilities. You will ensure integration with architectural, mechanical and electrical designs and supervise bid/tender phases.

Role requires 7+ years in ICT infrastructure design (3+ on data centres) and strong knowledge of cabling, data centre networking, and industry standards. Hybrid work (2 days in office, 3 from home) is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunications / ICT Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years in ICT infrastructure design, with at least 3 years on data centre projects.
• Experience leading ICT design on hyperscale, colocation or enterprise data centres.
• Deep knowledge of structured cabling, data centre networking, ICT infra.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD / Revit / BIM for ICT design docs.
• Knowledge of Uptime Institute Tier, TIA-942, BICSI and ISO/IEC standards.

Responsibilities

The Specialist ICT Design Engineer for Data Centres leads the end-to-end design of ICT infrastructure for mission-critical data centre projects. The role is accountable for the technical quality of the ICT design package, including structured cabling, network pathways, ICT spaces and physical security systems, and for its integration with architectural, mechanical and electrical designs.

What will be your responsibilities?

Design ICT systems for data centre projects from feasibility and concept design through detailed design, tender, construction, and commissioning phases.

• Develop and review ICT design drawings, schematics, design reports and technical specifications for data centre facilities.
• Design structured cabling systems (copper and fibre optic) for backbone, horizontal distribution and inter-data hall connectivity, including meet-me rooms, entrance facilities and carrier diversity.
• Plan and design ICT equipment rooms and pathways (racks, containment, cable trays, conduits and raised floor systems), taking into account rack density, scalability and future expansion.
• Integrate ICT systems with MEP and architectural layouts, and lead the resolution of interdisciplinary coordination issues.
• Ensure ICT designs comply with Tier requirements (Uptime Institute / TIA-942), BICSI, ISO/IEC, IEEE and local codes, and with client design standards.
• Prepare and review bills of quantities (BOQ), cost estimates and tender documentation for the ICT scope, and provide technical evaluation of tenders.
• Review vendor proposals, shop drawings and material submissions, and provide the relevant approvals for compliance with project requirements.
• Provide technical support during construction, installation, testing and commissioning, and carry out site inspections to verify that installations comply with the approved design.
• Act as the ICT technical point of contact for clients, consultants and vendors, including presenting design proposals and attending design review meetings.

This is the profile we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunications / ICT Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in ICT infrastructure design, including at least 3 years on data centre projects.
• Proven experience leading the ICT design package on hyperscale, colocation or enterprise data centre projects.
• In-depth knowledge of structured cabling, data centre networking and ICT physical infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of Uptime Institute Tier requirements, TIA-942, BICSI and relevant ISO/IEC standards.
• BICSI RCDD or equivalent certification (strongly preferred).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD / Revit / BIM for ICT design documentation.
• Strong understanding of coordination with MEP and architectural systems in data centre environments.
• Experience reviewing tenders, shop drawings and vendor submissions, and supporting construction and commissioning.
• Experience guiding or reviewing the work of junior engineers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Effective communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, including direct client interaction.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality design within deadlines.
• Hybrid working arrangement – 2 days in the office, with the remaining 3 days working from home
