We are seeking a supplier friendly and proactive Sourcing Specialist to join our newly established heavy machinery assembly facility in Seremban – Sendayan Techvalley, supporting underground load and haul equipment.

About the Division

The Load & Haul Division, the home of Sandvik loaders and trucks for underground mining business. Here we are safer, stronger, and smarter, as we like to say it. We have been the market leader in accelerating diesel and battery-electric equipment development, with sharpened priorities. We work in close co-operation with the sales areas within the Sandvik Mining Business Area, to provide the best possible service for our customers. Load & Haul home based in Turku, Finland. Additionally, we have operations in Camarillo, USA | Changzhou, China | Khomanani, South Africa as well in Seremban, Malaysia.

Do we share the same goals?

In this position, your primary includes conducting market research, negotiating contracts, building supplier relationships, and developing strategic sourcing plans to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality, impacting company's profitability and supply chain efficiency. Supplier base will Country or Regional. Actively communicate and collaborate with suppliers and internal Sandvik stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Supplier Identification: research and identify potential suppliers for raw materials, components, or services, or identifying qualified candidates for job openings.
  • Evaluation & Selection: assess suppliers based on factors like cost, quality, reliability, and suitability to meet organizational needs.
  • Negotiation: communicate effectively with suppliers or service contracts to secure favourable terms and pricing, which is crucial for cost-effectiveness.
  • Market Analysis: analyse market trends and collect data for strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Relationship Management: develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with chosen suppliers.
  • Strategic Planning: develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to optimize the entire supply base.
Your Profile – What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy machinery assembly or manufacturing industry
  • Expert of supplier negotiations, sourcing development, and continuous improvement
  • Strong communication and strategic thinking skills
  • Familiarity with LMW setup, SAP S/4 Hana, and ARIBA systems
  • Experience with battery technology is a plus
