Job summary

Stratus Automation Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a software/firmware test specialist to define and execute comprehensive validation for NPI projects. You will craft test plans, automate where possible and validate firmware against specifications, including API and inter-device communications.

The role requires a degree in CS/SE/IT or related fields, with fresh graduates welcomed and a preference for embedded systems experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, SW Eng, IT, or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Fresh graduates welcome; 1 year in testing, firmware validation or embedded systems is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and RCA abilities.
Able to debug software and system-level issues and interpret logs and test data.
Familiarity with NPI processes and collaboration with R&D engineers.

Responsibilities

Define and develop test strategies, plans and validation approaches for software and firmware NPI activities.
Develop test procedures, cases, scenarios, data and acceptance criteria.
Execute functional, integration, system, regression, exploratory, performance and interoperability testing.
Design, develop and maintain automated test solutions, frameworks and scripts.
Validate firmware functionality, configuration, state transitions, fault handling and recovery.
Verify firmware interfaces, device communications and I/O behavior.
Perform API testing for system commands, responses and data exchange.
Conduct SQL-based database verification of system data, settings and transactions.
Analyze logs, test data and system behavior to identify defects and failures.
Collaborate with R&D, System Engineers and SWE teams to troubleshoot and fix issues.
Take ownership of testing activities including environments, tools and data management.
Maintain test traceability and documentation of results, defects, versions and artifacts.
Support FAT, system integration testing and product validation.
Prepare validation reports, defect reports and technical documentation.
