OCBC is seeking a skilled Full Stack / Back End Software Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable mobile or web-based applications with a strong focus on back-end services and RESTful APIs.

You will work with Spring Framework (Boot, Batch, Cloud) to build microservices, leverage Docker and Kubernetes for deployment, and collaborate across product and CX teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Application Development, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of software development experience, focus on full stack or back-end.
• Proficiency in Java 17 and RESTful APIs.

Full Stack / Back End Developer ( Java/ Microservices)

Job Overview

We are seeking a talented Full Stack / Back End Software Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with expertise in both back-end and full-stack technologies. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable mobile or web-based applications and services, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front end.

Java Proficiency

Strong understanding of Java programming language, including Java17 or later features (e.g., Streams, Lambda expressions, Optional). Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.

Framework

Experience with Spring Framework, especially Spring Boot & Spring Batch, for building microservices. Knowledge of Spring Cloud for distributed systems and microservices architecture. Familiarity with other frameworks like Micronaut or Quarkus can be beneficial.

RESTful API Development

Proficient in designing and implementing RESTful APIs. Understanding of API documentation tools like Swagger/OpenAPI.

Database

Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).

Containerization and Orchestration

Familiarity with Docker for containerization of microservices. Understanding of Kubernetes for orchestration of containerized applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust back-end services and APIs.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and reliability.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our tech stack.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and customer experience (CX) design, to deliver high-quality software solutions. Grasp product requirements and engage with team members and business stakeholders to define solutions and assess or estimate the scope of work needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Application Development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on full stack or back-end development.
• Proficiency in back-end programming languages, primarily JAVA17 is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Bitbucket or Git.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js are optional.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of security best practices in app & web development.
