Job summary

TalentHunt Consultancy in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Software Engineer (React & Next.js) to join our growing Engineering team. You will turn ideas and designs into fast, scalable and user-friendly web applications.

You will work closely with product stakeholders, designers and cross-functional teams to build and continuously improve user-facing applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript. The role emphasizes performance, API integration, and collaborative development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of frontend developer or software engineer experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React and Next.js.
• Good understanding of the web development lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with authentication/authorization concepts (OAuth/JWT).
• Knowledge of frontend performance optimisation and best practices.
• Experience with Git and GitHub; exposure to CI/CD pipelines.

• Keep up to date with emerging frontend technologies and development best practices.
• Ensure applications maintain high standards of UI quality, design consistency and brand experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience as a Frontend Developer or Software Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React and Next.js.
• Good understanding of the complete web development lifecycle from design and development through testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts.
• Good understanding of frontend performance optimisation.
• Experience with Git and GitHub.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in using AI tools (like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Bolt.new, Cursor, Windsurf) to enhance development productivity.
• Comfortable working with designers, stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A good eye for UI layout, usability and design consistency.
• Mature, self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, with a strong sense of responsibility and good working attitude.
