About the Role

SUMMER REGION SDN. BHD., located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, is seeking a highly proficient and motivated BIRT Report Developer to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reports using BIRT.
• Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Build complex reports featuring tabular layouts, charts, crosstabs, and sub-reports.
• Write and optimize efficient SQL queries to extract data from relational databases.
• Enhance report functionality with interactive parameters, filters, and data organization logic.
• Ensure the accuracy, performance, and reliability of all reports.
• Conduct thorough unit testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Manage the lifecycle of reports through enhancements, fixes, and change requests.
• Partner with application teams to integrate reports seamlessly into business systems.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and user guides.
• Provide ongoing production support and resolve report-related incidents.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Technical Expertise
• Proven experience in designing and developing reports with BIRT.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, with experience in Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar RDBMS.
• Demonstrated ability to design complex data sets, scripted data sources, and computed columns.
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization of reports for efficiency.
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS for customizing report output; understanding of PDF formatting.
• (Preferred) Experience integrating BIRT reports into Java/J2EE application frameworks.
• Experience & Education
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in professional report development; BIRT experience is highly preferred.
• (Advantageous) Background in developing reports for enterprise systems (e.g., Healthcare, Finance, ERP).
