Job summary

INCEIF University is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, test, implement and maintain systems addressing user needs within an academic environment. You will translate requirements into scalable, secure solutions and collaborate with ICT teams and vendors to support digitalisation initiatives.

The role emphasizes end-to-end lifecycle management, secure coding practices and proactive performance optimisation across multiple databases and platforms, including Moodle LMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in IT/CS or related field.
• 5–8 years' experience developing or supporting systems and applications, preferably in academic environment.
• Experience with MySQL, SQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Knowledge of Moodle LMS, IT systems and end-user support in education sector.
• Knowledge of IT project management and ICT policies/guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Develop secure, scalable and high-quality applications using established coding standards.
• Conduct testing, debugging and performance optimisation for reliability.
• Troubleshoot software issues and minimise downtime.
• Develop technical documentation and user guides.
• Collaborate with ICT colleagues and stakeholders to implement features.
• Apply IT standards and project management practices.
• Prepare ICT reports and keep abreast of emerging technologies.
• Provide backup support for other ICT functions.

Key responsibilities

This role is responsible for gathering and translating user requirements into functional, scalable and secure solutions, ensuring optimal performance and good user experience. Working closely with internal ICT team and vendors, the Software Developer drives innovation, delivers functional and efficient systems and applications that supports the digitalisation and automation initiative.

• Manage the end-to-end software development lifecycle from requirements gathering and system design to coding, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Develop secure, scalable and high-quality applications using established coding and architectural standards.
• Conduct testing, debugging and performance optimisation to ensure system reliability.
• Troubleshoot software issues and minimise operational downtime.
• Develop technical documentation and user guides.
• Collaborate with ICT colleagues and stakeholders to implement and enhance system features.
• Apply appropriate IT standards and project management practices.
• Prepare ICT reports for management and keep abreast of emerging technologies.
• Provide backup support for other ICT functions when required.

About you
