Job summary

A construction firm in Johor, Malaysia is seeking a skilled Site Supervisor to oversee construction activities and coordination with contractors. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Liaise and coordinate with consultants and contractors on all site matters.
  • Supervise and monitor construction works in accordance with the contracts and construction drawings, especially in respect of specifications, quality, and time of completion.
  • Attend all inspections and tests carried out by the contractor and document all the reports and results.
  • Ensure that all materials delivered to site conform to the approved specifications and the project’s inspection test plan.
  • Execute inspections and tests for site works and materials as per Engineer and Architect’s requirements.
  • Monitor and control the construction progress and report to superior promptly if progress is behind schedule.
  • Ensure that all works executed are in accordance with drawings, specifications, construction plans and procedures.
  • Notify the contractor of work that does not comply with the required quality standard, construction drawings and specifications.
  • Attend site meetings and technical meetings.
  • Prepare, maintain and monitor site records.
  • Witness testing and commissioning of all work done.
  • Carry out final inspections and handovers, including ensuring that all as-built drawings are prepared and a copy kept with relevant superiors prior to issuance of the certificate of practical completion.
  • Liaise with contractors for defect rectification works during the Defect/Liability Period.
  • Regularly report to relevant superiors on the progress of the works and problem areas encountered, especially in respect of defective, outstanding, non-conforming, or delayed works.
  • All other duties as and when assigned by the superior/management.
  • Ensuring all on-site workers adhere to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Quantity Surveying, Building or related field
  • At least 2 years in Building / Civil / Construction
  • Able to work independently and well in a team, good interpersonal skills, and good discipline.
  • Preferably with CIDB
  • Good technical knowledge.
  • This position is based at site construction.
