Job summary

A leading construction company in Malaysia is seeking a Safety Officer to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at project sites. You will assist with the documentation of OSH programs, conduct inspections, and collaborate with safety supervisors. The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health and must possess the Yellow Book. Willingness to work Saturdays and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be willing to work on every Saturday (8AM - 4:30PM).

Job description:

• Assist the site SHO with various tasks related to the documentation and implementation of the company's/department's OSH programs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, such as the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994, FMA 1967 (Bowec), EQA 1974, CIDB and other related acts, guidelines & instructions.
• Advise employers on best practices and measures for ensuring safety.
• Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify and rectify any potential hazards.
• Monitor, inspect and correct any unsafe practices or conditions at the project site.
• Collaborate with contractor safety supervisors to ensure subcontractors are adhering to safety regulations.
• Ensure all sub-contractors are compliant with OSHA, FMA and other related regulations.
• Investigate and report any incidents, accidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences, poisoning, or diseases that occur on the project site.
• Participate in HSE committees and execute HSE inspections and audits.
• Monitor and maintain KPIs related to safety.
• Oversee all the workplace activities to ensure they are up to date and meet the safety standards.
• Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as instructed by management.
