Job summary

Hammer Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a qualified Site Safety Supervisor (Yellow Book) to coordinate HSE policy implementation and safety management on construction sites.

You will lead risk assessments, review method statements and JSA, and oversee permit-to-work for high-risk activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires at least 3 years of construction site experience with 2 years as SSS on active sites, a Diploma in OSH or related field, and fluency

Qualifications

• Registered Site Safety Supervisor with DOSH (JKKP) — Yellow Book — valid for full contract period.
• Passed the NIOSH SSS examination.
• Minimum 3 years construction site experience, with at least 2 years as SSS on an active site.
• Minimum SPM; Diploma in OSH, engineering or construction-related field preferred.
• Fluent spoken and written Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1994 (amended 2022), NADOPOD 2004, CDM Regulations 2024, USECHH 2000, HIRARC Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate implementation of company HSE policies, Safety Management System on site.
• Lead or support HIRARC per guidelines and keep it live as work changes.
• Review JSA and lift plans; flag gaps to HSE Engineer.
• Run Permit-to-Work system for high-risk activities (work at height, hot work, confined space, etc.).
• Conduct daily site inspections of scaffolding, excavations, formwork, and welfare facilities.
• Verify plant/machinery inspections and that operators hold valid competencies.
• Check PPE, fitness for work, and CIDB cards; remove non-compliant personnel.
• Deliver toolbox talks in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Coordinate subcontractor safety, inductions, and training records.
• Maintain site Emergency Response Plan; respond to incidents and investigations.
• Submit safety reports and statistics to HSE Engineer and client.
• Support audits and close findings within timelines.
• Monitor environmental controls and worker welfare on site.
• Drive safety culture, near-miss reporting and recognition of safe behaviour.
