A leading construction company in Johor is seeking a Safety Officer to oversee safety compliance and ensure a safe working environment at the project site in Kulai. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in engineering related to safety and at least 2 years of experience. Responsibilities

• Prepare the pre-job hazard assessment in documentation.

• Assist Project Manager on safety matters and inspections.
• Check validity of workers’ passports and permits.
• Attend safety meetings and ensure site safety.

Job Description

• Prepare the pre-job hazard assessment in documentation required by the site safety requirement.
• To ensure contractors and workers are complying with the safety requirements at site.
• Comply with all Safety & Health requirements in customer sites.
• Assist Project Manager on safety matters, procedures and specifications as required by client.
• Assist Project Manager to ensure all workers are wearing PPE (personal protective equipment).
• Perform inspection on the tools and equipment used by contractor.
• Assist Project Manager and identify any safety issues during project execution.
• Check inventory of the first aid box weekly.
• Ensure workers’ passport, working permit, CIDB or any other necessary documents are always valid to work at site.
• Attend Safety Meetings at site.
• Ensure all the safety requirements complied by everyone at site.
• To ensure workers are working in safe and healthy condition.
• Ensure all equipment/machinery are complying to safety requirement and safe to be used.
• Coordinate with site team conducting housekeeping activity to ensure site cleanliness and tidiness.
• To prepare Safety Reports, HIRARC etc
• To ensure workers are being briefed and working accordingly to the Job Safety Analysis and HIRARC.
• Notify superior if there is any urgent or emergency in site if necessary.
• To involve in incident investigation if there is any incident at site.
• To check the certificate of PMA & PMT
• Perform all other tasks as assigned that reasonably relate to regularly assigned tasks.

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
• At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Candidate is mandatory to posses Yellow book
• Candidate must be willing to work at Project site Kulai, Johor.
