Job summary

A company specializing in data center technology seeks a Safety Manager in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct daily inspections, manage safety documentation, and lead training sessions. The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, have 2-3 years' experience in construction, and possess a Yellow Book certificate. Fluency in Mandarin is a plus. This role is pivotal in maintaining a proactive safety culture across projects.

About the job
  • Enforce Legal & Project Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Malaysian statutory requirements (e.g., OSHA 1994, FMA 1967/BOWEC) and the project's Safety & Health Management System across all site operations.
  • Conduct Daily Site Monitoring: Perform daily safety inspections, patrols, and interventions to immediately identify, report, and rectify unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and hazards, especially during high-risk data center-related activities (e.g., working at height, lifting, electrical works).
  • Manage Safety Documentation & PTW: Maintain up-to-date and complete safety records, including all inspection logs, incident reports, and the effective implementation and filing of the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system.
  • Lead Safety Training & Communication: Conduct essential site safety training, including daily toolbox meetings and site inductions, to effectively communicate hazards and promote a proactive safety culture among all workers and subcontractors.
  • Investigate and Report Incidents: Lead or assist in the thorough investigation of all accidents, near-misses, and dangerous occurrences, and ensure the implementation of timely and effective corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
What you need to succeed
  • Possess a Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or relevant
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience within the construction industry, added advantage if you have done data center or industrial projects
  • Must possess a Yellow Book certificate
  • Added advantage if you’re fluent in Mandarin
