Job summary

A leading construction company in Malaysia seeks a Health and Safety Supervisor to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on site. The ideal candidate will possess a Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health Management, be a certified Site Safety Supervisor, and have between 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in construction environments. Responsibilities include inspecting work conditions, liaising with authorities, and promoting safe practices throughout the project. Applicants must have strong supervisory skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the provisions of the Act and any regulations made thereunder are complied with
• Liaise with relevant government agencies such as DOSH, CIDB, KKM, local authorities and all interested party such as Project Client and consultant.
• Promote the safe conduct of work generally within the worksite via HSE programs
• Inspecting and rectifying any unsafe act and unsafe condition at place of work
• Checking sub-contractors’ work to ensure compliance with the Act and the regulations made thereunder
• Assist Safety and Health Officer to carry out daily surveillance at work place / project with relevant check list
• Assist the Safety and Health Officer to investigate any accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational diseases which has happened in the place of work
• Perform any other safety & health duties assigned by Superior / the Management from time to time

Requirements

• Applicants must possess at least Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health Management or Safety Certificate from approved authorities
• Candidate must be a certified Site Safety Supervisor by DOSH (Previously known as Yellow Book Holder)
• 2 to 5 years of experience in the Health and Safety. Experience in earthwork and construction of infrastructure project is required for this position
• Proven experience of Supervisory Skills will be an added advantage
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
• Required Skill(s): Occupational Safety & Health Management, Construction Management etc
• Have the ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessment on company operations and activities
• Fit and well to work
