Job summary

A leading construction firm in Malaysia is seeking a Civil Engineer to oversee planning and design stages of engineering projects. The ideal candidate will manage all project phases, ensuring timely completion and compliance with industry standards. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related fields is required, along with proficiency in engineering software. Mandarin is a plus. This role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for site visits in Selangor.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in Malay and English; knowledge of Mandarin is a plus.
• Experience with engineering and construction specifications.
• Availability for site visits outside normal business hours.

Responsibilities

• Managing the planning and design stages of engineering projects.
• Performing due diligence on the impact and feasibility of new construction sites.
• Overseeing all project stages from preliminary layouts to final engineering designs.
• Surveying new construction sites and assessing existing structures for upgrades.
• Performing cost estimations and preparing project budgets.
• Preparing work schedules and allocating resources, as well as supervising junior engineers, construction managers, workers, technicians, and contractors.
• Ensuring that engineering projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Inspecting completed projects for compliance with industry codes, specifications, and safety standards.
• Documenting processes and presenting project progress updates to senior managers and clients.
• Coordinate site work with subcontractors and ensure project runs smoothly.
• Raise up any discrepancy for clarification either in term of drawing or technical construction method.
• Analyze and investigate the problem early and resolve any site problem.
• Perform any other ad-hoc tasks as maybe assigned by the superior or Company.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Able to speak in Malay/English, Mandarin will be an added advantage.
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Building, Architecture or Quantity Surveyor.
• Proficiency in engineering project management software, such as Civil 3D and City Engine, as well as CAD.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering and construction specifications, standards, and codes.
• Computer literate and knowledge in Microsoft Office. (Word and Excel)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Availability to perform construction site visits outside of business hours, when relevant.
• Wiling to travel to other sites in Selangor.
