Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of on-site costing and procurement for renovation and interior fit-out projects.
- Negotiate and liaise directly with subcontractors and suppliers (especially suppliers from China) to achieve best pricing and quality.
- Prepare and review quotations, Bills of Quantities (BQ), variation orders, and progress claims.
- Conduct on-site measurements and verify progress to ensure projects remain within budget and schedule.
- Manage the procurement process — source, compare, and evaluate suppliers; track delivery schedules and cost efficiency.
- Provide regular cost reports and updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clients, designers, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution and clear cost communication.
- Participate in project and progress meetings, resolving on-site cost and supplier issues promptly.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor\'s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin (Preferably candidates fluent in Mandarin as the role requires to deal with China suppliers)
- Required skill(s): Microsoft Office, AutoCAD. Advancement in relevant software such as ArchiCAD, Databuild, Clickhome will be an advantage.
- Proficient in cost estimation and contract administration.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, industry standards, and local regulations.
- Ability to search, compare, and negotiate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers is important for achieving favorable terms, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with interior designers, architects, engineers, project manager, stakeholders and clients.
- Able to work independently and meet tight schedules.
- Positive Attitude: Focusing on opportunities instead of obstacles.
- Stay open to change, flexible, and willing to adjust to new processes in order to achieve shared goals.
- Available to start immediately (preferred).
- Preferably possess a valid CIDB Green Card.
