A global medical device company in Penang is seeking a Simulation Engineer to manage FEM Simulation activities for R&D projects. Responsibilities include planning resources, coordinating software training, and liaising with various operational areas. Ideal candidates should have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, be proficient in FEA and CFD software, and possess knowledge in material characterization. Plan, prioritize, and manage resources and requirements to execute the FEM Simulation activities for research and development projects up-to Design Verification (DV) completion and for engineering troubleshooting.
This may include preparing complex engineering standards or methods, set requirement for simulation study, developing project plan, budgets and forecasts necessary to complete the projects.
Coordinate training and maintenance for simulation software and methodology
Liaise with other operational areas in the organisation (e.g. manufacturing, engineering, quality control) to ensure tasks assigned able to complete on time and within budget.
For more senior position level, manage all aspects of a large scale, complex, or significant engineering project or program, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget.
This may include establishing correlation study and performing material testing to validate simulation methodology.
For more senior position level with people management responsibility, responsible for leading the direct report(s) in managing and overseeing on the project to ensure the completion simulation tasks or projects to delivered to end user. This may include conduct project meetings and prepare regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
