Job description

We are looking for a Shipping Assistant to join our team at Maritime Network Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in supporting our import/export and customs operations. As Shipping Assistant, you will be responsible for coordinating and processing shipping documentation, ensuring efficient and compliant logistics services for our clients.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and processing shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and other related paperwork
• Liaising with clients, and customs/port authorities to facilitate smooth import and export processes
• Assisting the boarding officer by updating MMSW system for each port prior vessel arrival
• Providing administrative support to the shipping team as needed

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2-3 year of experience in a shipping or logistics role, preferably in an import/export environment
• Strong understanding of shipping documentation and customs clearance procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Attention to detail and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the import/export industry
