Job description
Summary

We are looking for a hands‑on and experienced Field Service Technician to join our growing team of service engineers. In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing extrusion blow moulding machines at customer sites. You’ll work closely with clients to ensure optimal machine performance, reduce downtime, and support production needs through expert‑level service and support.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently and professionally with our internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation & Commissioning:
    • Install, set up, and commission extrusion blow moulding machines and associated systems and auxiliary equipment at customer facilities.
    • Run test cycles, calibrate systems, and ensure proper machine functionality and output quality.
    • Ensure all installations are completed in compliance with local and international safety and technical standards.
  • Service & Maintenance:
    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on extrusion blow moulding equipment.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
    • Replace and adjust components such as extruder screws, die heads, moulds, parison programming systems, and control units.
  • Technical Support & Training:
    • Provide hands‑on training to operators and maintenance staff on safe and efficient machine operation.
    • Offer technical guidance and solutions for production issues related to parison control, flash trimming, or material inconsistencies.
    • Draw up SOP’s for our machines and train machine operators and maintenance staff on proper operation and basic troubleshooting.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Complete detailed service reports, including diagnostics, repairs performed, and parts used.
    • Maintain accurate records of service visits and equipment performance.
    • Provide feedback to the engineering and product teams on field performance and potential improvements.
  • Customer Service:
    • Foster strong relationships with customers through professional service and support.
    • Identify customer needs for spare parts, upgrades, or additional equipment.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Frequent travel to customer locations is required (domestic and international).
    • Flexibility to travel on short notice and work outside of regular hours when needed.
Qualifications
  • Technical certificate or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of field service experience preferably in the extrusion blow moulding industry.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing extrusion systems, die heads, hydraulic pumps, and PLC‑based controls.
  • Strong understanding of machine parameters, mould changes, and process optimisation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport for travel.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and machine manuals.
  • Experience with HMI and PLC interfaces (e.g., B&R, Toshiba, Siemens, Allen‑Bradley).
  • Knowledge of plastic materials used in extrusion blow moulding (e.g., HDPE, PP, PETG).
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to on‑site safety standards.
Work Environment

Predominantly working in our customers' factory or warehouse, installing, commissioning, operating or repairing blow moulding machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time position. Must work overtime and at weekends, as needed. Travel up to 90% both domestically and internationally.
