Job summary

A global engineering company in Malaysia is seeking a candidate for an engineering role focused on welding and process engineering. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Mechanical or Welding Engineering, IWE certification, and at least 5 years of experience in fabrication/manufacturing. Qualifications

• IWE certification and 5 years of experience in fabrication/manufacturing shop.
• NDT Level II desirable in any two methods.
• 6 years’ experience in welding engineering, structural fabrication, pressure vessel, quality, non-destructive examination.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support related to welding and cladding process engineering.
• Prepare and manage welding procedure qualification and welder qualification tests.
• Review supplier welding procedures and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Clients requirements and applicable International rules.
• Evaluate lessons learned for similar projects.

Skills

Strong working knowledge of TIG

Ability to motivate welders

Good oral and written communication skills

Working knowledge of welding processes

General understanding of structural and material properties

Education

Degree in Mechanical or Welding Engineering or Materials & Metallurgy
