Job summary

ExxonMobil Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Water Engineer - Advanced to join our Environment team. You will apply engineering expertise to support raw water, wastewater, and water reuse initiatives across global operations, with travel to sites as required.

With a B.S. in a related field and 5–10+ years of hands-on experience, you will lead technical analyses, collaborate with site teams, and drive improvements in water treatment performance while aligning with safety and emissions goals.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in designing, developing, or operating raw water and industrial wastewater treatment.
• Oil and gas industry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of water chemistry and treatment fundamentals.
• Experience in operation, design, troubleshooting, or startup of treatment systems.
• Hands-on experience with plant operators and site teams.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Flexible schedule to support global teams and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for asset monitoring and performance analysis across ExxonMobil global facilities, focusing on raw water and wastewater systems.
• Partner with site teams to troubleshoot and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Lead or support capital projects from concept to design, engineering, and startup of water and reuse solutions.
• Collaborate with global experts to evaluate and deploy innovative water treatment solutions.
• Travel to operating sites as required and contribute to regional knowledge development.
