Gutor is seeking a Product Design & Application Engineer based in Malaysia to drive advanced transformer and magnetics design for industrial UPS solutions. The role involves collaboration with internal teams and suppliers, supporting product development and ensuring compliance with IEC/UL/ATEX standards.

You will leverage your expertise in BOM, transformer sizing, and cross-disciplinary design to deliver robust engineering outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, materials and international standards for transformer and choke design (UPS a plus).
• Able to generate BOM and perform transformer sizing calculations (no load loss, efficiency, inductance sizing, voltage drop).
• Experience with IEC 60076 and transformer testing (Routine/Type/Special).
• Minimum 5 years in electrical design engineering; 3 years project management or execution.
• Able to work across multiple disciplines and drive priorities; good English communication.

Responsabilités

• Qualify new magnetics suppliers and support 8D investigations.
• Support front end/production/quality/field service on electrical inquiries.
• Maintain engineering databases and design/process documentation.
• Plan and conduct engineering analyses, testing, and reports.
• Ensure UPS design compliance with IEC/UL/ATEX and related standards.
• Lead testing procedures for new part introductions with testbay and QA.
• Coordinate with purchasing on vendor qualification and technical queries to support implementations.
