Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) in Penang, Malaysia is seeking Test Engineers for Datacenter Accelerated Computing products. You will develop test strategies, validate hardware/software, and work across cross-functional teams to enable AI/ML/HPC datacenter GPUs.

You will contribute to automated diagnostics, test content in Python, and manufacturing test solutions, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with global product engineering teams.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (MS preferred).
• Experience with manufacturing test programs at platform level is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review and provide feedback for DFT during design phases.
• Debug hardware and software issues during build phases.

THE ROLE:

The Product Development Group is looking for Test Engineers focused on our Datacenter Accelerated Computing products. We are looking for dynamic and energetic engineers to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the Product Development Group, you will work in our manufacturing site in cross-functional teams to deliver industry leading products forArtificial Intelligence(AI),Machine Learning (ML),and High-Performance Computing(HPC)applications.Specifically, this role is focused on manufacturing test solutions and automation, validation, and cross-functional program managementtohelp our manufacturingpartners’deliverAMD’s leading datacenter GPUs.

THE PERSON:

Acandidatewho:

• Datacenter system test and debug background
• Has strong analytical thinking andproblem solvingskills with excellent attention to details
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to drive yield improvements to the manufacturingprocess
• Must be a team player but also be able to work efficiently with minimalsupervision
• Has a strong interest inthe manufacturing ofGPU hardwareandknowledgeofAI,ML,and HPC products
• Is very familiar with Linux, and computer hardware validation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop test strategy for new product features including identification, specification, design and qualification of test fixtures, test equipment and diagnostic software.
• Review and provide feedback for DFT in the early design stages.
• Debug complex hardware and software issues during build phases.
• Contribute to automated diagnostic generation and validation infrastructure.
• Define manufacturing hardware test solutions that translate into methodologies and processes applicable across Board and System product segments.
• Support the development of test content and solutions in Python.
• Investigate and introduce new manufacturing test technology and methodology to improve production efficiency.
• Identify and plan product improvement activities to reduce cost, improve yield and resolve quality issues.
• Solves complex, novel and non-recurring problems; initiates significant changes to existing processes/ methods and leads development and implementation.
• Contribute to our automated Diag generation and validation infrastructure.
• Review and provide feedback for DFT in the early design stages.
• May provide technical supervision or mentoring junior engineers.
• Influences others as a technical leader.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationship with other departments.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working with manufacturing test programs at platform level.
• Experience with Board or System products.
• Background with Python programming and bash scripting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
• Experience with developing tests, patterns/vectors, timing, and diagnostics on Automated Test Equipment.
• Debug experience in hardware, software, device, and/or manufacturing domains.
• Experience with a scripting language (Perl, Ruby, shell script, or similar).
• Experience with Linux or Unix Operating Systems.
• Experience in XP, AGILE, Scrum, or Kanban as Scrum Master or Product Owner.
• Experience with revision control (GIT, SVN, CVS, RCS or similar).
• Experience with C++, Java, C, or C#.
• Solid Knowledge of IPMI, PCIE, BMC, and Thermal Solutions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (MS preferred)
