Position Summary

The individual will be part of the Risk Management Team, who functions as a separate independent business unit that reviews and supervises all independence and client acceptance / continuance requests within the organization. This position acts as the gatekeeper to ensure that client onboarding and continuous monitoring requirements are complied with in relation to laws and regulations in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Ideally, the candidate should have at least 3 to 4 years of experience in processing client due diligence and understand when a threat to independence or conflict of interests may arise in a professional services firm setting. The candidate needs to be able to work independently, with an inquisitive mindset, an eye for detail and be able to understand complex corporate structures with good communication skills.

Key Accountabilities / Major Area of Responsibility

Review and supervise a team who processes all Client Due Diligence and Independence compliance within the organization on a timely basis, such as:

  • Ensures that Client onboarding is in compliance with the organization's policies and procedures
  • Coach less experienced team members in completing client onboarding procedures
  • Be alerted to latest developments in global policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements and be able to summarize key changes to update policy manuals and draft training materials
Qualifications / Experience
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and preferably Chinese as the role may require liaising with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, reviewing documents in Chinese language and be able to understand written Chinese.
  • Possess at least a Degree in a relevant discipline
  • Good interpersonal skills – able to communicate / interact with people at different levels from different departments
