Job summary

Role Overview & Primary Accountabilities

Financial Accounting and Reporting

  • Lead and co-ordinate the preparation of consolidated financial statements and financial reviews of Kimberly-Clark Asia Pacific entities to facilitate efficient, timely, and accurate reporting of results, reviews, and projections as needed, in accordance with local and US GAAP requirements.

  • Direct the application of any amendments to US and Local GAAP accounting standards in line with instructions from Corporate Reporting team or Regional Controls team Lead the function as a source of financial expertise, business knowledge and problem-solving capabilities to assure sound analysis, recommendations and action programs in assignments involving corporate finance activities

Regional Management Reporting

  • Lead and co-ordinate the compilation, submission, and reporting of the financial results and other financial information and reporting schedules for Asia Pacific affiliates in accordance with US GAAP to senior stakeholders in the GBS, Record to Report team and Regional Finance Teams

  • Influence, negotiate, and ensure the submission of actual results, and other schedules from each entity within the region to comply with stringent reporting deadlines.

  • Preparation of ad-hoc financial reviews and analysis to support decision making.

Reconciliation and Integrity of Statutory Financial Statements

  • Ensure the integrity of monthly statutory financial statements is maintained by overseeing detailed account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure the financial records accurately reflect the status of transactions and events.

Business Partnering

  • Support business operations by partnering with GBS teams to meet financial reporting objectives

  • Manage and support the development of analysis working closely with Regional FP&A teams to ensure integrated financial reporting processes are in place

  • Lead and manage a team that partners with stakeholders across countries in APAC to ensure timely submission of financial reporting deliverables along with building knowledge and expertise in understanding and explaining key business drivers to aid financial reviews and commentary preparation.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and provide recommendations to improve financial reporting processes via sustainable and scalable automation, simplification, and standardization initiatives.

  • Continuously review and improve financial reporting controls and streamline processes under area of responsibility.

  • Address and promote the adoption of a data driven mindset along with the deployment of analytical tools where necessary to generate information and insights for decision making.

Talent Management

  • Develop employees to their full potential through Performance Management coaching, appropriate training and education, goal setting and career development.

  • Build a sustainable talent pool and expertise in the subject area while ensuring succession plans are in place within all levels of the team.

Essential requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or an equivalent professional qualification in a related field (CPA, CIMA, ACCA).

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in financial accounting covering financial reporting & analysis and general accounting with at least 4 years team leadership experience

  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting standards.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Good command of verbal and written English. Good command of any other Asian language would be an advantage.
