Your Role

The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioner is responsible for providing expert diagnosis, treatment, and holistic healthcare services based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. This role involves assessing patient conditions, prescribing herbal remedies, performing acupuncture, and offering lifestyle and dietary advice to promote wellness. The TCM Practitioner mentors junior practitioners, contributes to clinical research, and ensures adherence to regulatory and ethical standards in TCM practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient consultations with a focus on paediatric care using TCM diagnostic methods, including pulse reading, tongue diagnosis, and medical history assessment.
• Develop and implement individualized TCM treatment plans based on patient diagnosis and needs, including acupuncture, herbal medicine prescriptions, cupping, moxibustion, and tuina therapy.
• Select and prescribe high-quality herbal medicines, ensuring proper dosage and combinations based on TCM principles.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and herbalists to ensure the proper selection, preparation, and dispensing of herbal medicine.
• Provide clear explanations of lifestyle adjustments, dietary therapy, and preventive healthcare according to TCM theories.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans for optimal results.

Requirements

• Education
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Acupuncture or a related field.
• Registered with the Traditional and Complementary Medicine (TCM) Council Malaysia and holds a valid Practising Certificate.
• Training in Paediatric TCM (e.g. paediatric Tui Na or child wellness treatments).
• Experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a TCM Practitioner.
• Experience treating paediatric patients.
• Experience working in a clinic or healthcare setting.
• Skills
