Job summary

A leading tax advisory firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Tax Consultant. You'll ensure compliance with Malaysian tax laws, provide advisory services, and support tax-related projects. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 8+ years of experience, and strong analytical skills. Professional certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Professional certification preferred.

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of Tax returns in compliance with Malaysian tax laws.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of Tax returns in compliance with Malaysian tax laws.
  • Provide Tax advisory to business units on transactions and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with internal departments, external consultants, and tax authorities on tax matters, audits, and queries.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of Transfer Pricing documentation, ensuring alignment with the relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Provide Stamp Duty advisory and compliance support for relevant transactions.
  • Support tax-related projects and assignments, including process improvements, system enhancements, and tax planning initiatives.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation, assess business impact, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and records for all tax filings, correspondence, and advisory work.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field. Professional certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in tax compliance and advisory.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
